Silver Jewelry

Silver jewelry has been a prized possession for many years. The material in general has been used to create high-value objects. These objects were very commonly meant to reflect the wealth and status of the owner.

Traditionally, silver jewelry is created from sterling silver. This is an alloy created from silver and copper. About 92.5% of it is created from the former, 7.5% from the latter.

Silver jewelry in the United states has some particular definitions. For instance, it can only be marketed as such if it has a composition of at least 92.5% fine silver. It is worth noting that sterling silver is harder than pure silver. It also has a lower melting point.
