Earrings
Earrings are a jewelry option which is generally attached
to a person through a piercing in the ear. There are many different
areas of the ear which may be pierced. The most common is the earlobe.
Earrings come in many different forms to suit these different piercings.
These include captive bead rings, flesh plugs, barbells, and circular
barbells. The different piercing options of the ear, in addition to
the lobe, include the conch, snug, industrial, cartilage/helix, tragus,
anti-tragus, rook, and daith.
The use of earrings is one of the oldest known forms of body modification.
Of course, some of these jewelry options do not necessarily involve
the piercing of the skin. Some are capable of simply being snapped onto
the ears, or attached with magnets.
